Jetstar is releasing a fun content series designed to help Australians partake in the Northern Hemisphere pastime of building snowmen with a twist, with assistance from Thinkerbell.
The series ‘Seeking Sandmates’ follows a Sandman on a journey “to find other Sandmates and avoid spending Christmas alone”.
With this in mind, the airline is encouraging Australians to get involved in different locations – and with different types of sand – “for a chance to win up to $100k worth of flights”.
“We may not have snow here in Australia at Christmas, but we do have more sandy beaches than anywhere else in the world and an airline that can get you to them, for very little,” said Thinkerbell’s chief tinker, Tom Wenborn.
“Let’s hope this new Jetstar tradition catches on and we see merry little Sandpeople pop up all over the country.”
With the initiative running through the holiday period, Sandpeople are expected to appear on online, social, TV and out-of-home (OOH) channels.
Sandmates isn’t the only sandy offering Thinkerbell and Jetstar have concocted together.
In late October, the advertising agency and airline unveiled a surfing competition focused on finding Australia’s greatest amateur surfer.
