Dust off your cleats: Mumbrella’s Sports Marketing Summit is back
Mumbrella’s annual celebration of sports marketing excellence, the aptly named Sports Marketing Summit is back for 2024.
Set to take place at Royal Randwick (Australian Turf Club) on September 19, 2024, the summit is gearing up to provide professionals in the marketing and sports industries an opportunity to gather, dissect the sectors’ latest trends, and inspire another fruitful year of athleticism and advertising greatness.
Three sessions have already been confirmed for the conference’s schedule.
‘Acing your Sports Partnerships: Lessons from the AO’ will see Tennis Australia’s head of event brand marketing, Brittany Wickes, and director of partnerships and international business, Roddy Campbell, take to the stage to explore how The Australian Open has successfully leveraged brand concepts to remain relevant, engaging and a staple in international tennis.

But tennis isn’t the only sport taking to the summit’s field. Soccer lays the foundation of a session surrounding one of the country’s most beloved teams – the CommBank Matildas.
The aforementioned session – ‘How the CommBank Matildas Got it Done’ – is being presented by representatives from Football Australia – general manager – marketing, Nicole Zosh and chief corporate affairs, brand and communications officer, Peter Filopoulos – and Ogilvy – executive creative director, Hilary Badger, and group creative director, Josh Murrell.

In it, the four marketing, communications and creative experts will unpack the solutions and strategies that birthed the “Til It’s Done” campaign and transformed it into a national battle cry that captured Australia’s attention.
And to ensure everything runs smoothly, sports presenter Stephanie Brantz is moderating the session.
