Initiative wins KPMG media account
KPMG has appointed Initiative as its media agency of record, an account previously held by Zenith, Mumbrella can reveal.
The account is Initiative’s tenth win of the year, following its appointment to the Carnival Australia, Tourism Vancouver, Australian Radio Network, Fujitsu, and Swinburne University accounts.
The appointment comes after KPMG bought Love Agency in May, seeing founders Danny Housseas and Arthur Gougoustamos become KPMG partners. Its first creative acquisition was independent UDKU a year ago, founded by M&C Saatchi’s Mark Timmins and Colin Jowell, and Ideaworks’ Kon Marinis.
KPMG’s recent moves are only the latest in a series, as consultancies continue to strengthen their creative and digital capabilities. Deloitte has worked on campaigns for the likes of Suzuki and Dodo after raiding McCann for top talent to launch Deloitte Digital in 2017. PwC has its CMO Advisory, led by Russel Howcroft, and has invested in creative agency Thinkerbell. And Accenture acquired the iconic Droga5 earlier this year in its biggest deal to date, after buying The Monkeys for $63m in 2017.
Initiative was unable to provide a comment on the appointment.
KPMG declined to comment.
Strange that the Initiative haters have gone very quiet recently.
Congratulations to Mel and the team. A brilliant first half of the year.
