Mediacom Melbourne appoints Anny Havercroft as general manager
Mediacom Melbourne has promoted Anny Havercroft to heads its operations replacing Peter Barrie who departed the agency in July, Mumbrella can reveal.
Havercroft previously headed the Melbourne division of its brand content division Mediacom Beyond Advertising and prior to that was innovation director.
“I’m delighted to have Anny Havercroft as general manager of our Melbourne operation,” Mark Pejic CEO of Mediacom told Mumbrella.
“Anny has been at Mediacom in one guise or another for the last seven years, five of those in Melbourne, and been responsible for our Mediacom Beyond Advertising product.
“She has a deep understanding of content and a deep understanding of connections. She is a really great person and I’m thrilled to be able to promote from within.”
Two weeks ago Mediacom Beyond Advertising won Content Marketing Agency of the Year at the BEfest Awards.
Peter Barrie has since been named as the new boss of Sensis’ new digital agency Found.
Prior to joining Mediacom Havercroft had roles at Acumen Partners and what was then Zenith Media.
The appointment comes at a challenging time for Mediacom Melbourne with the business having lost a number of key accounts this year, including both Treasury Wine Estate and Seek.com.au.

Congrats Anny, well done
Interesting choice considering almost no media reps would know of her except if they were involved in integration lead by the MBA department and even then…
@Chel Not sure your ability to have lunch with media reps is a criteria for GM role. In fact too often I think that is the mistake made by many. Suspect bringing fresh eyes from outside pure media not bad long term play by MC.
“She has a deep understanding of content and a deep understand connections.”
good, clear communication there …
Massive Congrats Anny!
Thanks for flagging Shamma, our error not Mark’s.
Cheers,
Alex – editor, Mumbrella
HUGE achievement Anny! Big congrats.
@Thought good point mate. I just worry that Mediacom not getting someone fresh to foster the change of a festering culture may be an issue. Good luck to Anny though. Would love to see Mediacom turn it around.
