Myer creates bauble that tells kids whether they have been naughty or nice
Department store Myer has launched a Christmas campaign centred around a “naughty or nice” bauble decoration.
Created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, the baubles are controlled by bluetooth-enabled smartphones and can be switched to red (naughty) or green (nice) with the controlling app.
Well done Myer for taking a risk. In a sea of same same Christmas TV ads they’ve bucked the trend, made a bespoke product and backed themselves to connect with their audience through it. As a business they need to do things differently but it still takes bravery to actually take the leap and go for it.
If the new CEO bought this then I like his style.
Far more interesting than yet another generic xmas ad or John Lewis clone.
Too bad the app doesn’t work. Freezes at the location seevices screen. Bluetooth was the only requirement on the box.
