‘Our new leadership team is now complete’: TBWA Sydney confirms Matt Keon as chief creative officer
TBWA Sydney has announced the appointment of Matt Keon as its new chief creative officer, rounding out the recently announced leadership team.
Keon in the latest to join the agency, following the recent appointments of chief strategist Michael Hogg, managing director Elektra O’Malley, and head of strategy Josh Taylor Dadds.
He brings years of experience from leading agencies to the role, including BMF Australia, Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, and Fallon London. He co-founded 18 Feet and Rising, a UK-based independent agency, and later sold a minority stake to Creston Group PLC.
Alongside advertising, Keon has also worked across healthcare, artificial intelligence, and genomics, advising on creativity to high-growth companies in the UK and US.
“Matt is an exceptional creative leader who truly lives at the intersection of creativity, innovation and science. His CV, folio and creative vision blew us away,” Paul Bradbury, president and CEO of TBWA Australia and New Zealand, said in a media release on Tuesday.
“Our new leadership team in Sydney is now complete, and we are already underway on several very exciting projects.”
Keon’s appointment rounds out the leadership team, following the hires of Hogg, O’Malley, and Dadds earlier this year.
In February, Hoggs’ move from independent agency Emotive to TBWA was announced, as was O’Malley’s return to Australia after a ten-year stint in New York.
Bradbury described their appointments as “the start of a very exciting new chapter” for the agency.
Meanwhile, in March, Dadds returned to the TBWA ecosystem from Special New Zealand. He previously served as TBWA New Zealand’s strategy director from March 2021 to July 2022.
Keon described TBWA as an agency with “pure creative muscle in its DNA”, and said he’s excited to be a part of it.
“I am especially excited to be reuniting with Michael Hogg from Fallon, who is a strategic sniper at the top of his game, and Elektra O’Malley who has the most insightful and acute understanding of client’s business I have come across.
“We are aligned, we are in sync and completely focused on what we want to achieve for our clients. Watch this space.”
