The Block hits the nail on the head; helps Nine win Monday

Nine’s The Block topped entertainment on Monday, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to 740,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The launch this year aired to an average metro audience of 867,000. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 29 August, Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.564 million viewers, including 43,000 on BVOD, and uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of Amazing Race Australia and 9-1-1 Lonestar, both with an uplift of 43%.

Looking back at Monday overnights, Have You Been Paying Attention? on Ten, which aired to an average metro audience of 547,000, followed by Media Watch on ABC, which aired to an average of 542,000.

Australian Story was next on ABC with an average metro audience of 538,000 

Next up was an episode of The Chase Australia on Seven which had an average metro audience of 507,000, followed by Home and Away on Seven, which brought in 504,000 metro viewers.

Farmer Wants a Wife aired to 489,000 metro viewers, followed by an episode of The Amazing Race Australia which pulled in 386,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News at 6:30 won overall TV viewing on Monday night, followed by Seven News with 939,000 metro viewers followed by Nine News with 847,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30  brought in 829,000, and ABC News pulled in 668,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 27.7% over Seven’s 26.4%, while ABC had a share of 19.5%, and Ten took a 15.9% share.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Monday was 7TWO with a share of 3.3%.
