‘Ready to address any reputation risk’: Clarity Global launches international reputation management and crisis council

Clarity Global – the parent company behind reputation and crisis management agency Sefiani – has bolstered its reputation management and “follow-the-sun crisis” offering with the launch of a dedicated group.

The Clarity Global Crisis Council is made up of the organisation’s crisis experts, and external industry professionals who will engage with the team when required.

The council’s formation personifies Clarity Global’s dedication to responding to the market’s growing need for reputation, crisis and omni-channel communications experts across territories. At the same time, by using talent from across the globe, the council allows Clarity Global’s international offering to become more broad and relevant for political and regulatory ecosystems, in addition to different sectors and markets.

The Clarity Global Crisis Council has five leaders at the helm: Sydney’s Nicholas Owens and Robyn Sefiani; Los Angeles’ Jason Wakeford; London’s Michael Gonzalez; and New York’s Kristen Ingraham.

The co-founder of Latin American affiliate agency Sherlock Communications, Patrick O’Neill; the managing partner of Singaporean communications consultancy Rice Communications, James Brasher; American crisis counsellor and Emmy-winning journalist Bob McNaney; former Edelman Amsterdam crisis and reputation lead, Laetitia Gruwel; and Catherine Colloms, who boasts more than 25 years in the crisis management space in Europe and the United Kingdom, join as the five external council members.

“We are delighted to welcome five eminent reputation experts as external members of our Clarity Global Crisis Council,” said Rachel Gilley, chief executive officer at Clarity Global.

“Ensuring our clients have access to the most experienced advisors available, wherever in the world they might need them, is very important to us. We look forward to working collaboratively with Council members to deliver best-in-class crisis response and reputation management services across continents.”

Sefiani added: “A crisis waits for no-one. While some crises can be defused quickly and locally, others evolve, morph and escalate across markets and geographies, with the potential to cause significant and sustained brand and corporate reputation damage.

“The Clarity Global Crisis Council is ready to address any reputation risk whenever and wherever it emerges. Our follow-the-sun service can extend to crafting a 360° crisis response, designing a crisis preparedness workshop, auditing digital footprints for reputation risk, tackling social media disinformation, preparing for forthcoming legal action, building resilience across digital, Wikipedia and media platforms, and curating a bespoke approach to reputation challenges on the horizon.

“As many of the clients and brands seeking our crisis and reputation management counsel are global, it is reassuring for them to know we have a seamless team of communication, digital, intelligence and analytics specialists around the world to deliver a holistic, follow-the-sun service, to protect and defend their reputations when needed,” the group’s ANZ president and reputation counsel finished.

Clarity Global’s working relationships with Polpeo – an international crisis simulation organisation – and Digitalis – a company specialising in digital crisis reputation management and communications risks – are expected to help uphold the overall offering.

The news of the council’s formation comes within the same month as Sefiani launching a Global Responsible Business Unit designed to assist organisations in conveying their ‘Responsible Business’ actions authentically and confidently.
